a joint initiative of the International Geosphere–Biosphere Programme (IGBP) and the World Climate Research Programme (WCRP), developed through the cooperation of the IGBP's Integrated Land Ecosystem–Atmosphere Processes Study (iLEAPS) and International Global Atmospheric Chemistry (IGAC) and WCRP's Global Energy and Water Cycle Experiment (GEWEX) .
